Pastor Alex Lanou

Born in Gainesville and raised in Jupiter, FL, Alex grew up in a non-Christian home and was saved by the Lord at 15 years old through a friend’s invitation to attend student ministry. After serving in inner-city ministry for years, that church called him back to serve as Student Minister of the Student Ministry in which he was saved. While on staff with that church, Alex was part of the transition to become a part of Family Church, where he met his wife, Molly. Molly and Alex married in June of 2017.

Since moving to Gainesville to be closer to Molly’s family in 2018, God has blessed the Lanou’s with seven children: Kilsin, Bear, Justice, Murphy, Deacon, Remember, and Abide. The Lanou Family served together for years as a foster family through One More Child. During that time, Alex was discipled by Jordan Massey and in 2022 was ordained by Westside Baptist Church, endorsed by NAMB as a Church (re)Planter, and commissioned to be the replanting pastor of Hague Baptist Church. Also endorsed by NAMB as a Corrections Chaplain, Alex works bivocationally at a local state prison. Burdened by an abundance of downtime, Alex recently enrolled in The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in pursuit of an M.Div.
